First off, a very Happy New Year to everyone!
We’re kicking off 2011 in style with another track from COLLAPSE INTO NOW—Oh My Heart–which is now streaming at NPR’s All Songs Considered. According to Michael, who was asked by NPR for a description of the song, “It’s a very quiet and very meditative song dedicated to New Orleans — about New Orleans. Jacknife [Lee] is great as a producer, because he saw that we were struggling with what is a very quiet song. We were standing really far away from each other in the room, and it was hard not only to actually physically hear each other, but it felt dispersed. He brought us into the middle, and instantly, of course, the song worked.”
Oh My Heart is the third song from the band’s forthcoming record, due out March 7th/8th, to be made available for early listening. You can check out both Discoverer and It Happened Today below:
